The May 2009 CPA exams is fast approaching. I believe it was scheduled on May 9-10 for the first weekend and May 16-17 for the next one.
I am sure there are many reviewees that are now cramming and scrambling to absorb everything that they can learn in the next couple of weeks before the exams. The next 2 weeks is tough for most. The anxiety, the panic and fear of flunking the board is there – very real. The excitement mounts as you come closer to D-Day and you can’t help but ask yourself “Am I really ready for this?” or “Did I reviewed everything I need to review for the exams?”
Some tips are in order…
At this stage, you should only be practicing on a lot of mock exams, pre-board materials, reviewer books and handouts. There is really not enough time you can do to absorb that much in the coming days or weeks so it is best that you take what you learn in practice and take some rest as well.
You should also must check out the exam rules and regulations. You should know what are the rules and guidelines for the exams. It’s better to be safe than sorry. Make sure you check the exam instructions before you arrive:
* what must you take into the exam room?
* what will be provided for you?
* what are you allowed to take into the exam room?
* what are you not allowed to take into the exam room?
Whenever possible, check out your room assignments the day before the exams. This is important especially if you don’t know the place where you are assigned to take the exams. Then be in the venue at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start of the exams. I can tell you that it pays to be relaxed on the big day. If you are commuting to the exam venue, make sure you know your traffic situation beforehand. With all the hardwork you have done at this point, you cannot afford to be late on the exam day.
If you are an aspiring CPA in this coming May board exams, good luck to you.
Dream. Believe. Practice. Survive the Board Exams.
