Eyeballing with PinoyCPA.com Officers
Yesterday, I had an opportunity to meet and Eyeball a bunch of young guys and gals who are the Officers of PinoyCPA.com at Lutong Macao at Megamall. They are the Blue, Green and Pink people in the forums (except those in the Middle East like Insekto, Clever and Urajimaru. Pawnedking begged off for this event). It was an exciting experience for me because for almost a year of talking to these guys via the forum and chat, yesterday is the only time I met them. And it was exciting yet am nervous…
I came in early to the venue because I don’t want them to miss me and primarily I don’t want to be late. Secondly as host, I have to arrange everything for them. As the hour get closer, my heart pound faster and faster. Then one by one they came headed by the lovely FEM prime Ms. Cheesecake whom I have only seen in the photos of the first EB. I don’t know how to react as she approached me excitedly in her pretty dress but she is quite friendly herself so I became at ease easily. Then came Amigo, the wackiest guy in the Shoutbox who came in a strong serious mode. Amigo is handsome yet surprisingly silent at the time – a far cry from the Amigo online.
Its not long before Joaqs and The Underdog came too. Joaqs looks smart and jolly and always throws in a genuine smile. She seems to be shy on the onset though but later on was able to be at ease herself. The Underdog came in with his big strong chest (courtesy probably of the gym – not boobs) like a soldier’s chest out stance and presents a naughty smile that exudes himself very very friendly. He looks “mapagbigay nga” almost looking coy and willing which probably hides his strong spirit from within. I wonder how many girls now have fallen for him? ;o)
3Triangles later joined the team with his joyful approach and jolly spirit however he is almost always uneasy with the time. I guess something or someone is bothering him but nonetheless, we enjoyed his company with his “banats” and “kwentos” and we laugh out hard at times. Later, Cheese has to pickup Bong from somewhere. Bong was not as I imagined him to be but he looks very very smart like my college professors. He is very friendly and fun to be with and I was not expecting him making me laugh out loud last night.
We were all looking forward to see 888Gemini but he is not showing signs that he is around. We suspected he is looking for us in the old venue so I went there and saw him “lurking” in the place after the lady from the resto told me that there is this guy who is looking for a reservation for 10 people in the resto. I approached the guy and mentioned his username in the forums. He looked at me at amazement (as if who is this guy?) but when I told him I was Manny, a sigh of relief ensue and from then on, we know each other.
When we go back to Lutong Macao, we found Shenn there with the team. Shenn looks like a pretty mestiza or better than that but very shy still. I guess she needed more time with the team and she will be comfortable. We did not talk much about Arctic (which is sad) but we enjoyed her presence there as Shenn herself nonetheless. Then since one of our members, Emerald, is within the area, I asked The Underdog to get her to join us. She later joined us and that’s when you know there is really something in between her and The Underdog. Di na makaporma si TU. hehehe
It was the first time I experienced this Eyeball thingy and it’s a little bit eerie as if I am on a blind date or something. But sure is fun to meet fresh faces in the profession. As the saying goes, its always good to see the faces behind the names. This face to face connection allows me to connect with their real souls rather than their digital souls and it’s an enriching experience for me seeing their facial expressions, body movements and eye contacts while engaging into conversations. I really enjoyed it with the team last night.
So I can say that I was not disappointed at all with my choice of the set of Officers at PinoyCPA.com. It is as if someone has guided my hands to pick these folks. Whatever it is, I confirmed last night that I made the right choices for the membership base. The PinoyCPA Officers are good (and good looking) , friendly and concerned folks about the future of the PinoyCPA forum. I am glad we share the same sentiments towards the membership. And it’s a good thing…
